Our vision for this project was using exciting and experimental approach to the design but keeping and selling its history and service. Going out to shop is no longer a vital necessity, but a leisure activity. The ideal design would have a minimalistic elegance and sophistication, cleverly combined with a sense of warmth and comfort. Luxurious and high quality materials, along with bespoke furniture and lighting pay tribute to the optician’s long history and reputation.
The redesigned store should appeal to a new younger demographic without alienating the core customer base— this should be a key goal for the project. The store should be a place to come to feel comfortable, to bond with your brand with no pressure to purchase, just a wholesome learning and entertaining environment. The concept could be simple Clear-cut organic lines of colors and shapes. Colour, Fun, drama. Every element should have an eye for detail as well as the devotion to craftsmanship, quality and tactile feedback technology.
Back to perfection and an all-encompassing service for the customer, taking time and showing transparency. This concept would tie in very well with Egan’s Opticians long history and great service in Cork City. Overall we would like to create a game changing new optical experience that believes in doing things differently. Ditching the sterile for style the experience takes a much more fashion and lifestyle approach to retail. Embracing digital technology. The store design should have more in common with a fashion or technology store, fusing together both experiences. With a strong family history in clinical eye care with over 80 years in business and sales this design should make Egan’s Opticians the standout Optician retail experience in Ireland.
